In national human resource, entrepreneurs are driving force, playing decisive role to business development and prosperity of the country.
Globalization, particularly its economic dimension, has become one of the world’s most talked-about concepts. This huge interest holds true here in Vietnam as well. The country has been striving hard to become an industrialized country in 2020; therefore, well-trained workforce, including prowess business people, is engine of the industrialization and modernization of the country.
After two years of its integration into the World Trade Organization (WTO) with its significant achievements, Vietnam has proved its capacity in capitalizing opportunities for dynamic development. Notwithstanding, the country is facing ever harsh challenges, of them is to train and develop a high-skilled workforce, including entrepreneurs, to meet the demand of national development and international integration.
Through the ups and downs of the national history, the role of entrepreneurs have been firmly asserted and celeberated, irrespective of state-owned industry or private sector. Businesses could hardly succeed or develop without mighty human capital.
Developing human resource has been always a key policy of the Vietnamese government. This platform has been consistently stated in all official documents of the leading party and the government. Under its guideline, businesses in all sectors throughout the country have carried out strategy to train and develop their laborforce, organize skill enhancement courses for managers, to prepare an army of talented business persons which is essentially important for the betterment and prosperity of the country.
Integrating into the process of globalization means to embrace global scale competition. However, people have increasingly become aware of another trend of globalization, of which the repercussions are even more severe and acute than economic factors - that is the cultural aspect of globalization.
Today, when culture is regarded as both a target of and a stimulus for development, we could affirm that cultural globalization - a natural process - took place in parallel with economic globalization during the initial process, and will exceed economic globalization in later stages of globalization.
The issue is that while integrating into globalization, we need to keep on deserving and enhancing Vietnamese cultural indentity, and especially national independence and territorial integrity. In such a condition, entrepreneurs, corporate chieftains who directly handle business transactions in the global market need to toughen political ability, always uphold the value of national culture, and foster skills and talent in all fields to keep abreast with the swift development of the era.
Knowledge and professional ability of entrepreneurs are primary factor deciding competitive strength of their products and success. They are intellectual asset that motivates entrepreneurs to maintain a burning fire for business, incubate new creative ideas, take bold action with high determination to translate their ideas into high quality products to meet the demand of society and international market. To succeed, bringing benefits to the country and avoid being despised in the global market, entrepreneurs must have strong cultural foundation, beside knowledge. As we all know that human ability can not be acquired in a short period; it takes form in the process of historical and social evolution and is sustainable. Its sustainability closely relates to culture of society, of corporate and entrepreneur. Profits at all cost regardless of moral norms is ill-mannered behavior and unscrupulous approach of entrepreneur. Therefore, a modern entrepreneur mus be virtuous and talented person.
Cultural knowledge of entrepreneur is very important and decisive factor in building corporate culture, a component of national culture. A business person with high cultural level and appropriate lifestyle will make contribution to setting up corporate culture. On the contrary, if corporate chieftain fails to uphold traditionally cultural value in lifestyle, and behaviour she/he will leave bad repercussion and can hardly build corporate culture. Vietnamese entrepreneurs need to build their core value, philosophy and healthy lifestyle in conformity with cultural values and national tradition. That would serve as cultural foundation for their success in the international market.
