Opening the program, Chairman of VCCI - Dr. Vu Tien Loc - warmly welcomed Japanese investors in the Mission of the Mission of the Japan - Vietnam Economic Committee for working visit in Vietnam. He also confirmed Vietnam always attaches great importance and supports Japanese businesses investing in Vietnam based on the good cooperation relation between the two countries. Japan is currently the greatest investor in Vietnam. These achivements have been including the important contribution of Keidanren in promoting to economic cooperation, trade and investment between the two countries as well as the contribution of Vietnam – Japan Business Forum in improving the investment environment in Vietnam. During the meeting, Dr. Vu Tien Loc - Chairman of VCCI - also suggested that huge Japanese enterprises of Keidanren will continue to pay attention and cooperate with the Vietnamse businesses including entrepreneurs who join Vietnam – Japan Business Forum (VJBF), as Mr. Nguyen Hoang, Vice Chairman of VCCI cum Chairman of Vietnam Supporting Industry Development Committee, to cooperate to develope Vietnam supporting industries in next time.

KEIDANREN is the greatest business federation in Japan, includes 1.340 huge enterprise members, 109 national industrial business associations and 47 local economic organizations.
Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative initiated from May 4th 2003 - a forum for policy dialogue between Japanese investors with ministries and agencies of Vietnam, set up and create an environment business and transparent opening investment in Vietnam, while making constructive policy recommendations, as reference information in the process of finalizing the laws and policies for Vietnam authorities.
Up to now, Vietnam-Japan joint initiative has made 5 phases with a total of 441 subcategories in the action plan including 367 ones which have been implemented on schedule, accounting for 83% of total commited subcategories.
On that basis, Vietnam and Japan have agreed content to continue joint initiatives phase 6 including 7 main issue groups, with 7 categories and 27 subcategories, focusing on the areas of labor, wage, logistic, services, support SMEs, pharmaceutical distribution, Investment Law, the Enterprise Law ...
The implemented period of Phase 6 is 17 months (from August 2016 to the end of 2017), including two mid-term evaluations (by the end of 2016 and mid-2017) and a high-level meeting to assess the results of implementation by the end of 2017.
