On the morning of September 18, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade officially opened the Hanoi Supporting Industry Exhibition 2025. This year’s event attracted more than 500 booths from both domestic and international supporting industry enterprises. The products showcased at the exhibition were high-quality, highly competitive items from key supporting industry sectors such as components, spare parts, and industries serving high-tech manufacturing.

Currently, Hanoi is home to over 900 supporting industry enterprises, including more than 320 with production systems and products that meet international standards—capable of supplying global production networks of multinational corporations in Vietnam, the region, and worldwide. Among them, the production of components and spare parts plays a key role, serving major manufacturing industries such as automobiles, motorcycles, mechanical engineering, and electronics. Many supporting industry segments have achieved a high localization rate, creating competitive advantages over imported products.
The Hanoi Supporting Industry Exhibition is recognized as a prestigious specialized event in Vietnam’s manufacturing and supporting industry sector, held within the framework of the FBC ASEAN Manufacturing Business Matching Exhibition. Over the past eight years, the exhibition has connected tens of thousands of buyers worldwide with domestic parts and components manufacturers through various formats, generating an estimated value of hundreds of millions of USD.

This year, the exhibition also welcomed more than 20 major buyers from both domestic and international markets, participating in person and online, enabling targeted business matching and potential contracts to be signed directly at the event.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, highlighted the city’s continuous efforts in developing the supporting industry. Over recent years, the department has advised the Hanoi People’s Committee to issue a series of programs and plans such as the “Program for the Development of Supporting Industries in Hanoi for the 2020–2025 period”, the “Plan for Implementing the Project on Developing Key Industrial Products 2021–2025”, and the “Restructuring Plan for the Industry and Trade Sector through 2030.”
She emphasized: “The successful organization of this exhibition reflects Hanoi’s determination to concretize national resolutions on breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation; economic integration in the new context; institutional reforms; and private sector development.”

At the event, Mr. Phan Dang Tuat, Chairman of the Vietnam Supporting Industry Association, affirmed that the exhibition has created a crucial networking platform. It is not only a place for trade and signing agreements but also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between domestic and international enterprises.
However, he noted that in order for the supporting industry to thrive, enterprises need stronger policy support and organizational models. Currently, more than 1,000 enterprises must purchase raw materials and supplies individually with small orders, leading to high costs and inefficient logistics. If there were an organization to consolidate demand and facilitate collective procurement, costs could be reduced and competitiveness improved. He suggested that Hanoi should study and pilot such a model, as has been effectively implemented in many countries through nonprofit organizations.
The Hanoi Supporting Industry Exhibition 2025 is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, September 17–19.
