For more than a decade, Vietnam’s industrial development has been entering a strong transformational phase amid deep international integration. The mindset of industrial development is shifting from primarily assembly to mastering technologies, components, and core parts that form the backbone of an autonomous economy.
Specifically, the Industrial Development Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2045 identifies domestic production autonomy and the ability to participate in global supply chains as vital factors for Vietnam to not only remain a processing hub but to become a regional center for high-tech manufacturing.

The spirit of breakthrough in science, technology, and innovation emphasized in the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has also been embraced by the Vietnamese business community, which continues to seek new pathways and deeper participation in global production chains.

To go faster and in the right direction, Vietnamese enterprises have chosen to “join hands” with countries that are pioneers in manufacturing, such as Japan.

Onaga Company – representing a group of enterprises under the Japan Aerospace Components Manufacturers Association – is currently investing in Hanssip Supporting-Industry Industrial Park in Hanoi, developed by N&G Group. The company is one of the first domestic links in Vietnam’s systematically built and highly disciplined supporting-industry production chain.

Covering nearly 600 hectares, Hanssip Industrial Park is designed to attract specialized supporting-industry and high-tech projects. Phase 1 of the industrial park has reached 100% occupancy, marking the emergence of a new wave of investment. Major manufacturers from Japan and Taiwan, along with their satellite suppliers of components and materials, have gathered here, creating opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access global production, increase localization rates, and reduce dependence on imports.

From the perspective of the international business community, Vietnam is entering a “golden” period for breakthrough development. With impressive GDP growth, an open investment environment, and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia, the potential for deeper cooperation continues to expand.

International trade experts also recognize Vietnam’s strong potential for supporting-industry growth, supported by a market of 100 million people, a strategic geo-economic location, and extensive integration commitments.

The new momentum of supporting industries comes not only from industrial parks or foreign investment, but also from a new generation of Vietnamese enterprises who view innovation as the key driver of growth.

At a broader level, the Vietnamese business community sees supporting industries as a prerequisite for enhancing the nation’s competitiveness in global supply chains.

In reality, without a high-quality workforce, a modern supporting-industry sector cannot exist. At Hanssip Industrial Park, the Vietnam Supporting-Industry Career Academy directly provides training based on enterprise needs—from practical engineers to design and operations specialists—following international standards and enabling mastery of advanced technologies.

As the first “links” take shape, Vietnamese enterprises are proactively entering global supply chains, and with internationally trained human resources, the path toward a resilient, self-sustaining economy is becoming increasingly clear.
